The "Tahiti Rover" is presented here for those of you in search of a sensible, seaworthy, steel yacht, capable of a world voyage in the grand tradition of "John G. Hanna's original "Tahiti Ketch".
The designer took all the good stuff that made the "Tahiti Ketch" famous, and added larger sail area, an improved ballast displacement ratio, and a stern/forefoot/keel configuration that has markedly improved windward sailing ability.
The "Tahiti Rover" has the most favorable prismatic coefficient and ballast displacement ratio.
The "Tahiti Rover" fills a growing demand for an easy-to-maintain steel yacht incorporating the grace and safety of a traditional rig. She takes advantage of modern materials and methods of fabrication, but avoids the pitfalls of contemporary boats that depend on gadgets and chrome plated fittings for mass appeal…in the designers words.
Comprehensive haul out 2021.
